  1. I forgot to express my sympathy
to the French on the anniversary of their national catastrophe! Oh well, it’s been a busy week …

    Rem tene, verba sequentur.

  2. Mais l’Angleterre n’a pas eu de révolution et ne va pas mieux..
I’ll never forget how amazed I was in my early twenties (this was during the 1970s) to see a big display table bearing flyers, brochures, obscure academic paperback books, etc., which had been set up in one of the large halls of a university library in Europe, at which were seated about a dozen very serious, intelligent undergrad and grad students who were advocating the restoration of the French monarchy. I thought, now I’ve really and truly seen everything. I just couldn’t get over it. Later I told a few of my friends what I’d seen, the same way I might have described seeing a pink elephant flying through the sky. I thought that up to that point in my life I’d witnessed every weird thing of a political nature that was on offer on university campuses, both in the U.S. and various places in Europe where I’d been around universities for this or that reason—Oxford, Cologne, Aachen, Tübingen, Heidelberg, Brussels, Ghent, and elsewhere. But seeing that display-table manned by those earnest, bright, highly-intellectual French-speaking students who were advocating with utter seriousness the restoration of the French monarchy floored me. I didn’t take any of the literature they were calmly offering to passersby, for much the same reason I wouldn’t have taken tracts handed out on a street corner by, say, the people who were expecting to get beamed up to the invisible space ship traveling behind the comet Hale-Bopp.

Let’s just say I’ve come a long way since then…

To cut to the chase: When one looks at the surviving European monarchies and sees they are just as bad off with respect to the ravages of left-liberal modernism as the democratic republics over there, one is hard-pressed to conceive a preference for monarchy necessarily. But hey, what with the way things have been going lately in North America and the Ancient Nations of Europe I’m open to any and all suggestions…

    • Monachies?
But Mr. Scrooby, the surviving monarchies are monarchies in name only. In fact, there just leftist-run socialist regimes like all European countries – which will soon become part of the Caliphate. In fact, about the only thing that could save the European populace, most of whom are heavy Kool-Aid drinkers, would be a real monarch – a military leader ala LePen who would topple the faux-democracies and do what needs to be done. Muslims and other incompatibles would be ordered to leave. It would be their choice as to whether it would be in boats or in body bags. The last real monarch in Europe was Franco in Spain.
