Old Right Think Tank(s)

Given the outstanding success of ‘Think Tanks’ in propogating mainline conservatism and neo-conservatism,
should those people calling themselves paleconservatives seek to set up their own think tank(s)in DC with a view to achieving similiar status for their beliefs. If so, who would finance them?

The Rockford Institute and the Howard Center, both in Rockford, Illinois, function as little paleoconservative think tanks. One important reason they are little is that the foundations which give money to AEI and Heritage won’t give money to TRI and HC. I suspect TRI and HC would refuse to move to DC on principle. In other words, that it would be worse than hopeless to try to redeem the culture from the capital of our managerial, politically correct state.

In recent days, I’ve read that fifty years ago, Russell Kirk advised William Buckley *not* to locate National Review in NYC or DC. Obviously this advice was not taken.
