From the New York Times: take the politics out of universal human rights by letting the legal experts look after it! So the solution to the Israel obsession and the administrative mess the piece describes is to apply treaties based on uniform legal norms and procedures. Sounds great! For example: in spite of the Convention on the Rights of the Child children are often arbitrarily deprived of the right to watch the TV programs they like (Article 13) or choose who they hang out with (Article 15). Wouldn’t worldwide legal supervision based on universal culture-free standards be a big step forward?
