The Turnabout database got corrupted, so I had to restore it from a backup. Everything should be there except whatever was added between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Wednsday New York time (I think one comment was lost). If you notice any oddities, do let me know.
prayer for your database
Dear Lord, please save the Turnabout database from all sin and everything that corrupts it. May its tables and indexes forever remain chaste and blessed with the purity of denormalisation. Strike down every daemon that dares to curse its records with invalid nulls or fields out of bounds. Heal its cursors and queries from afflictions of syntax and unexpected return values.
Amen.
Newly Discovered Format
I have an old computer (that I had to resurrect because of problems with my usual computer) with Internet Explorer 5.5 that shows an interesting third column on the left-hand side of this site’s homepage. Other versions such as 6.0 do not show the third column. Does the Webmaster have any suggestions? Perhaps my settings need to be changed—but to what?
Browser shouldn’t matter
Are you looking at http://antitechnocrat.net:8000 in all cases? Old links to Turnabout (http://antitechnocrat.net:8000/tab) point to http://antitechnocrat.net:8000/node, which doesn’t have the left-hand column.
On another point, thanks to robertp for the database prayer. I’m just glad I had the recent backup and didn’t have to figure out exactly what had gone wrong and fix it.
